Atomic force microscopy (AFM) laboratory

Album

Lab AFM

Short description

It is a laboratory where research and teaching activities are carried out about atomic force microscopy measurements, in air, liquid and controlled atmosphere. We employ various AFM techniques to characterize different material properties of electronic materials with nano-scale resolution.

Research themes

Instrumentation

  • Park NX10 AFM

Advisory services

AFM  carries out activities ‘Conto terzi’ for industrial innovation needs; a scientific collaboration is ongoing  with the company Park AFM Europe (Germany) on the topic: ‘Demonstration of Electrostatic Operation Modes in Atomic Force Microscopy’.

Teaching and training

The AFM laboratory offers its resources to support:

  • Thesis development (LT/LM in Physics, MANO curriculum)
  • Development of research projects for PhD students and postdoctoral students
  • can be booked by external users
