Strategy and Quality

A strategy that places quality at the center of all activities: clear objectives, constant monitoring of achieved results, and improvement actions. DIFA presents its Departmental Strategic Plan.

What is the Departmental Strategic Plan

It is the vision that outlines the Department’s purpose in its core missions—teaching, research, and third mission (social impact)—and communicates its contribution to societal improvement.

It defines the Department’s three-year strategy by setting objectives and identifying actions and methods to monitor and evaluate the results achieved.

By establishing long-term goals, the Department operates in coordination with the actions of the University, aiming to promote shared initiatives at all levels. The Departmental Strategic Plan is aligned with the areas and objectives of the University Strategic Plan and adheres to the guiding principles for quality expressed in the University’s Quality Policy document.

Continuous Improvement

The three-year objectives defined in the Departmental Strategic Plan are monitored annually using clear, transparent, well-defined, and documented criteria to identify any issues and develop appropriate improvement actions. The Department also sets operational objectives for administrative activities to measure organizational performance, i.e., the contribution to institutional missions.

The Department has established a Departmental Quality Assurance Committee, which also monitors its governance system and internal quality assurance system to assess whether the organizational structure (delegations and committees) needs to be adjusted to meet emerging needs.

The document in which the Department formalizes its self-assessment, involving faculty, technical-administrative staff, and the student community, is the Annual Departmental Review.
