Albino Carbognani: INAF - Observatory of Astrophysics and Space Science of Bologna

On February 13, 2023 the near-Earth 2023 CX1 asteroid, discovered a few hours before hitting Earth, falls into Normandy. On February 14, some chambers of the Prisma network coordinated by INAF resume

a brilliant fireball that dies out near Matera at 21 km altitude. On February 15, a fireball is observed in the skies of Texas. In all these cases, meteorites have been recovered on the ground:

a very rare sequence of events, but which testifies to the continuous bombing to which our planet is subjected.

In the conference we will see the three cases, with particular reference to the recovery of the Matera meteorite.

Free admission while seats last.

To facilitate participation, part of the seats will be bookable from 8:00 on May 2nd and the remaining seats will be accessible in order of arrival on the day of the conference
