Centenary of the CNR

2023 marks 100 years since the foundation of the National Research Council.
After being canceled in May due to the flood emergency, the event to celebrate 100 years of the CNR in Bologna has been rescheduled.
In Bologna we celebrate by opening the doors of the CNR Territorial Research Area (in via Gobetti 101) to the public on 27 October 2023, from 6pm to midnight.

  • INAF will be present with various activities:
    Wonders of light: how do light rays behave? What information is important for astronomers?
    Let's find out together by revealing the secrets of spectra and infrared rays.
  • Euclid cosmic challenge: Discover the secrets of the Euclid space mission and solve the quizzes to obtain your
    Space Guide diploma and experience the thrill of a virtual immersion in the Dark Universe!
  • Chasing Radio Waves: Experiment with the interaction of radio waves with different materials and obstacles.
  • Hyper-realistic virtual reality: to wander around South Africa among the SKA antennas, the most powerful radio telescopes in the world,
    and in the Canary Islands among the innovative ASTRI telescopes
  • Space Surveillance - augmented reality: simulate astronomical phenomena around you: an incoming asteroid,
    the Aurora Polaris, shooting stars, space debris
  • Picture (of) the Universe: Experience the life of astrophysicists with the PIXEL board game.
  • Planetarium: travel through the cosmos while remaining comfortably seated!
  • Telescope observations: we observe the wonders of the sky above us.

Telescope observations will be canceled in case of bad weather or overcast skies.
