Short Description
The International Physicists’ Tournament (IPT) is an exhilarating event where students from universities worldwide come together to solve complex and challenging physics problems. It’s a competitive yet collaborative environment that fosters innovation and critical thinking. Participants present their solutions in physics fights—intense scientific debates—that test their understanding and creativity. This unique format not only enhances research and presentation skills but also encourages teamwork and the sharing of diverse scientific perspectives. Join us into the UNIBO IPT team to challenge yourself, collaborate with peers, and dive deeper into the world of physics.
Instrumentation
All the equipment of the first and second year teaching laboratories for the Physics degree at DIFA and beyond! Support is provided by DIFA and INFN mechanical workshops and the electronics group. Additional materials have been purchased (and can be purchased) over the years specifically for various experiments.
Teaching
Each year, a team of undergraduate and graduate students from the physics program participates in the IPT (http://iptnet.info). The laboratory is used to prepare solutions for the proposed problems, which always involve a significant experimental component.
Within the IPT, the laboratory component plays a crucial role. Physics department students actively use the laboratories to experiment and validate theories, preparing detailed solutions to the assigned problems. This hands-on involvement not only strengthens theoretical understanding through practical application but also hones the analytical and laboratory skills essential for any physicist. The importance of these practical aspects perfectly complements the theoretical approach, providing a balanced and deeply integrated education that bridges theory and practice.
