Scientific Research and Great Discoveries in the Tower

Discover the newly redesigned exhibition at the Museo della Specola, exploring groundbreaking inventions and insights that emerged from the work of researchers of the past and their significant impact on contemporary astrophysics.

For adults and families with children aged 10 and over (max. 15 participants, no booking required). Guided tours every hour from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm (6:00 pm, 7:00 pm, 8:00 pm, 9:00 pm). Duration: 60 minutes.

Eratosthenes: The Music of the Cosmos

The evocative interplay of images and music projected onto the buildings of Piazza A. Scaravilli explores the search for hidden order within the infinite, whether found in celestial space or in sequences of numbers. The work creates an ideal bridge between the rigour of mathematics, the fluidity of visual art and the history of astronomy written in Bologna, as documented by the collections of the Museo della Specola.

Held across Europe and neighbouring countries on the last Friday of September, the European Researchers’ Night brings research closer to the public, creating opportunities for people to meet researchers, discover their work and learn more about careers in research. Through an informal and engaging programme of activities, the initiative aims to foster scientific culture and encourage dialogue between research and society.
