Abstract

The Atacama Large Millimeter Array is entering the 5th cycle of scientificobservations. Its sensitivity and resolution capabilities haverevolutionized the study of youngest structures in the Universe, fromgalaxy formation through the formation of stars and planets. ALMA hasproduced over 300 refereed papers with over 3000 citations. In this talkwe will summarize the status of the telescope development and review someof its impressive and scientifically compelling results.
